Guild wars time sink4/19/2023 I'm not going to say I'm a good player-I mostly got through by playing with them. The other two designers were very good players. We did it through really smart use of our abilities. But we ended up getting through the boss encounter when groups of five people couldn't. We fought this boss encounter that was a little overbalanced at the time where it was, this is why we test things. For example, there was a time when one of the dungeons when we were play testing it, a couple of the other designers and I were going through and we had a group consisting of two Warriors and a Ranger, and we were going through and we were actually supposed to have five people, but we couldn't get a group together so we ended up with three. It's all of the leadup to it.To explain how blurry the lines of class distinction can become during a fight, Flannum tells a story from play testing: "Players are capable of taking care of themselves and filling different roles. So if you're looking at the battle itself, maybe it looks normal. Now once I had the matchup I wanted, and clicked to fight, there would be a small amount of lag, but the battle itself didn't seem to be affected but maybe a few times. When you hit refresh for new characters to fight, it would allow maybe 8-10 refresh taps, then would freeze again, often for 20-30 seconds, before you could start refreshing again. Once you were in, scrolling for opponents or tapping an opponent lagged, though usually not for as long. The problems were (are) even opening guild wars from the main screen, this often took upwards of 30 seconds or longer. When the Guild War battle finally started, there wasn't really a lag problem, which may be what you're seeing when you say that the queries are completing in good time. I really needed that Tidal Kick too :( Love the wars but man is this getting frustrating. It's so bad since the update that I am screwed for Arena this week :( kicks me out in middle of battles. Phone locks and have to hard reset or get 'system error need to restart'. On the other hand, ever since the GE update, Arena has been tremendously unstable. ![]() We are ranked 12th in war but man is the lag frustrating and time consuming. War battles are fine and stable but switching screens outside of battle especially is slow. Popping out to guild chat takes 10-15 seconds but back to normal again until you re-enter GW. It is very consistent and only in guild wars. I run iOS10 on iPhone 6S in Eastern US and the lag in pulling down data is horrendous. Do you know if you guys have this issue when there is indeed a lot of entries in the log? Unfortunately this indeed sounds like a client issue - looking at the server logs most guild wars queries are completing in good time. the lag plus the restarts makes this unbearably ridiculous.ΔΆ-and-a-half hours (and the game restarting itself 4 times) and I've finally done 9 GW battles - if this keeps up I doubt that I will want to play in future wars as it is very very very annoying. However, the game has restarted twice while I'm trying to get the through the GW screens to the opponent and hero pair combo that I want so that so far it has taken me 30 minutes and I still haven't been able to play the **ONE** battle I want to do. > Close failed: ArgumentError: Error #2083 -> Opening another connection. > No message received for 34913ms, refreshing connection ![]() > No message received for 13711ms, refreshing connection > No message received for 4822ms, refreshing connection > No message received for 12459ms, refreshing connection This is what I get clicking on the guild wars icon from the main entrance screen:
